I'm an Arizona Girl. I can't say that I don't love the Mountains of Utah or Colorado, or that I don't miss the perfect white beaches of Northern Florida, but the desert is a different kind of beautiful that I never want to leave. Framed it
When we were married my husband told me we wanted this map from his Grandpa in IA.
Its not as old as it looks. Its circa 1967.
In Feb 2009 we brought it home from IA with us.
In September I took it to a framing place and had it framed.
I wanted a frame that made the whole thing look older. Old looking frames
are not cheap. But I figured that it was going to go up in our home for
many years, making sure the quality we wanted was there.
In December I finally got it up on our wall.

Temple Lights
For FHE on the Monday after Thanksgiving we went to see the Mesa Temple Lights as a whole family.
It was cold. We made sure we each had a coat and we went out to participate in a holiday tradition.
Our children were all thrilled to be around so many Christmas Lights. I learned that all my hard work trying to teach my son colors hasn't been in vain. He was pointing out all the colors and telling me what color lights they were.

To Decorate or Not to Decorate
Since we were going to my parents I wasn't going to decorate.
Then I realized that, if we didn't decorate our tree my son
wouldn't get to decorate a tree this year.
I felt guilty denying him of this holiday activity. I gave in and put up the top 2/3
of our Christmas tree. I didn't put any of our decorations on the tree that
are even sightly breakable.
Al really enjoyed himself putting it up.
He wanted to put more and more and more on the tree.
I had to stop him and put away the rest of the
ornaments so he couldn't put more on the tree.

Fall Fair
My nephew's school was having a fund raiser fall fair. They do it every year. This is his first year at the school and our first time going. It was before Thanksgiving, I'm still playing catch up on my blog posts
Grandpa and Grandma came too. The biggest hit of the fall fair was the "train" cars ride and the balloon swords.

Thankful Wreaths
We invited our play group over to make 'thankful wreaths'.
They wreaths turned out really cute. Al was proud of his wreath.
How did we make it?
Supplies:
- construction paper
- paper plate
- scissors
- glue
- crayons
How: Cut the middle out of the paper plate. Find a leaf or a leaf on the internet. Use it to trace leaves on the construction paper. Glue cut out leaves around the edge of the place. Write with crayon things you're thankful for on the leaves.

Seeing the Muppets
Thanksgiving weekend we went to see The Muppets with my siblings.
This was the third movie we've taken my son to see. Each time we've gone to a movie
I start worrying if he's going to handle sitting in the theater well.
My son started to get wiggly about an hour 15 min into the movie.
We kept him and my niece quite by feeding them fruit snacks.
Its the same method I use in church when it gets really bad.
We loved The Muppets!!!!!
Love Loved Loved the MUPPETS
go see it!!
My family are huge Muppet fans.
We loved this movie, we have been
singing the songs
quoting the movie
and
talking about it
ever since seeing it.
