Christmas Puzzles (possible Singing Time)
But it was still on my mind. I played on my photoshop and came up with the following.
Yes some are almost exactly from the above website. However many are not and there are a number of primary songs. Can you figure them out?

Post-Wide Yard Sale
The reason they came down was the this weekend was the Post-Wide Yard Sale. What is a Post-Wide Yard sale? Once a year the local Military post has a Saturday that those who live on post in military housing to have a yard sale. Since Military families are restricted to weight limits when they PCS (are reassigned duty stations) they have to purge their belongs to just the essential. There is always a lot of great stuff. Especially a lot of baby and children's items- many of the families are young families with little children. We found all sorts of treasures and great clothes.
A funny story:
My son found this "Spencer" train at one of the yard sales and begged me for it. The owner knew what it was and had a lot of the train sets. Everything was priced individually. I paid them $2 for that train. Everywhere we went that morning he took it with him. Its easier to have your child carry their own toy at yard sales- they are less likely to get attached to a toy at the yard sale. I went to go feed the babies and my mom and sister kept going to yard sales. My mom didn't know I had already purchased the train. She offered and paid 25 cents. She said that the father at that yard sale turned to his wife and said "Was that one of Rusty's toys". Neither my mom or the father who sold the toy that wasn't his, had any idea what it was nor how expensive those little trains are new to purchase. We laughed all day at how my mom bought an item that we already owned.
A second funny story:
AL- "Spencer is a bad train"
Me- "Spencer isn't a bad train, he's just a misunderstood train"
AL- "no Spencer's a bad train"
Me- "I guess misunderstood might not be the best description, Spencer's just a really prideful train"
AL- "no Spencer's bad

More Toddler Antics
By then I had swept up all the Cheerios. So to get out of time-out he had to pick up all the toys on the floor. (He had also dumped out the toy box.) I wasn't mad at him, I wasn't angry, instead I was more in shock. It was a waste of an almost full box of Cheerios.

Our World Has Changed...
This morning my husband and are getting dressed for the day. Its just a couple minutes after 6am. There is a soft little knock on the bedroom door. My husband keeps getting dressed and ignores it, even though he is standing right next to the door tucking in his shirt. Later he said that he was sure he hadn't actually heard a knock.
I opened the door. Standing there in his sleeper pjs and a toy from the family room in his arms is our 19 month old so Al. Once the door is open he walks right in and goes to Daddy.
The reason this is significant is he has only been sleeping in the toddler bed for a little amount of time. But so far he hasn't been getting off the bed. So now he knows he can get off the bed, and secondly it means he has figured out how to open the door.
The next thing we need to figure out is, what are we going to do about it? Baby door locks? another baby gate? We don't want him wondering around the house in the middle of the night, but we don't want to lock him in his room at night. Tough questions. One thing is certain, our world has changed.

PETA-go eat meat
An animal rights group is calling on keepers of the country's most famous groundhog to replace Punxsutawney Phil with a robot. PETA says it's unfair to subject the creature to the bright lights and huge crowds that mark this Feb. 2 tradition. Organizers of the festival say Phil is fine — living better than other groundhogs in his climate-controlled environment.
I try to ignore PETA, I think that 90% of what they do is stupid and extremist. Mostly I thing their brains aren't getting enough protein because they don't eat meat that they are trying too hard to think. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't care. When I heard this I had to laugh something hard. That groundhog is treated better than a spoiled child, should we be allowing our children to send a robot to school because it is cruel to make them have to learn. Whatever, I liked Punzsutawney Penn's response. I'm going to go back to ignoring PETA. I just couldn't pass up this laugh.

Arthur the Aardvark

For years now my family has watched Arthur. It was been a whole family show for a very very long time, even my dad watches it, but maybe that has to do with his love of aardvarks- they are his favorite animal. I don't know what it is about the show that keeps us watching over and over again. There are some episodes that I have probably watched on the upwards of 15 times. My family use to joke that you know you've really made it if you get to be on the Muppet show. Now we all aspire to being on the Arthur show. While living in Utah I could watch Arthur 2 or 3 times a day. In Mesa, it was on only once a day. Down here in Sierra Vista I can watch Arthur 5 times a day in a 24 hour period. Not that I watch it that many times but its cool that if I miss it once I can watch the same episode later (its the same episode for the 24 hours). Today was an episode I had never seen. That's what prompted this post. Arthur is on its 12th season (info came from IMDB.com), and today's episode was from season 6. Makes me wonder how many there episodes from older seasons I've still never seen. You can watch Arthur on your local PBS and PBS kids TV stations.

Me and The Cat
Yesterday Cory went outside through the back sliding door to check something out on the side of the house. As soon as he was outside, the cat started pacing at the sliding door. “He’s not coming back, you’re stuck with me forever.” The cat looked at me, then turned back to the door and started madly pawing at the sliding door.

ScAreDy CaT

I am going to back up a bit, a couple weeks ago I woke up to my husband, hugging me tightly. He was asleep or about to be asleep, calmingly saying in my ear "its okay, everything is going to be alright, it will all be okay." I was confused. I surmised two possible reasons for this strange behavior:
1- I could have possibly been thrashing around in my sleep and making scared noises, it woke him just enough to try to comfort me. The only thing is I felt perfectly calm and I can't remember anything from my dreams that would have caused me to act that way. But I wouldn't put it past me, I do strange things when I sleep, just ask any of my roommates from college.
2- It had to do with his dream and I just woke up to it. The morning after it happened I asked him and it is just as much a mystery to him too. So since then, hugging the other and saying "its okay, everything is going to be alright" has become a joke.
Well last night, I had stayed up, in bed writing in my journal, while my husband slept next to me in our bed. When I was done writing, I turned off the lamp and laid down, still too awake to fall asleep. I laid for a few minutes and then I started to go into the sleep stage where your thoughts begin to wonder uncontrolled, but you are still aware of the world around you. All of the sudden I felt a pounce on my legs. I screamed like a helpless blond in B- rate horror flick. My husband flinched then hugged me tight, "its okay, everything is going to be alright." We both busted up laughing.
The rest of the story for the pounce: it was his cat, Shiva. First of all, I had woken my husband up a little when I was laying down, so he was aware of his surroundings and was just beginning to fall back asleep, so to him I screamed for no reason, I just went crazy. Shiva had been on my vanity (across from the bed) and had jumped onto the bed, landing on my legs. It had startled me because normal she gets on the bed and walks around before she gets on my legs, and I am very picky about what can touch my legs and a jumping cat was not authorized. So she made a scaredy cat out of me. But its okay, everything is going to be alright.
